I'm just getting started in this Holistic, Natural health thing.   I have come to believe that nature has all our needs for health if we just open our minds and look.  Really think about it, Western Medicine treats symptoms, whether by pills. lotions or surgery.  But it does only token amounts of providing accurate info  in preventing illness in the first place. Even when they give this info they keep changing their minds on it's accuracy.  Don't get me wrong, Western Medicine is not ALL bad but I wish it was more open minded and tolerant of some proven alternative methods of treatments..  So let me bore you for a minute as to why I started looking into this area.

My wife and I lost our jobs when the plant we worked in closed.  We had been going to the Company Doctor.  Now we have no Doctor nor Medical Insurance.  I have been taking Medication for years for heart arrhythmia.  If I go a day or so without the medication, my heart starts skipping beats or pounding fast and hard.  The prescription ran out and now I was stuck.  Basically I found out there was an alternative to the high priced drugs I've been taking.   All these years I have paid for  high priced drugs that have side effects to stop a symptom of a substance lacking in my diet.   And once taken the heart problem has gone away.  Needless to say I was pissed off that this dietary deficiency, known to have this side effect, was not brought to my attention by many Doctors over my life.  And to learn that this dietary deficiency is common in the United States diet.  No, I'm not going to tell you what has replaced the Medications, as I'm not a Doctor and it works for me and may not for you.  I suggest you start looking for yourself as I did for "Natural Remedies".  I did find out that ONLY 20% of the worlds population depends on WESTERN MEDICINE for their health needs  while 80%  of the people of this world look elsewhere for their health needs, I decided to  look to else where also.

I will guarantee you will get angry at Western Medicine (as it is practiced here in the United States) while you explore alternative medicines.  Basically, drug manufactures can not patent a natural substance, if they can not isolate the active ingredient and synthesize it they can not patent it.  So they will, with the FDA's help, suppress the use of a Natural substance in the treatment for anything, period.  The drug manufactures, AMA and FDA appear to be working in concert to suppress all information regarding the effectiveness of Natural cures and treatments.  This information cuts into profits from patented medicine use.   Just look at your TV ads for all the pills being pushed for every known ailment of mankind.  Some ads are for ailments I've never heard of like "Restless Leg Syndrome", Known as "RLS".   Ya, they got a pill for that too and a pill for a whole lot of other abbreviated illnesses.  But how many times do you hear of a break through PILL that Cures anything, you don't.   They don't want you cured, they want you to take pills for the rest of your life.    So much so that they are now placing ads on television to tell you about Diseases you may never heard of but you can  control with "This Medication".  Working together they passed laws barring Natural treatments  from making any  claims even though they have been proven to work.   In the UNITED STATES, you cannot sell or advertise that eating Citrus fruits will prevent or cure Scurvy.  There is information out there from respected Doctors and Research groups on the effectiveness of Common and Natural treatments and cures for mans ailments.   Shhhhh, They don't want you to know about cures. 

(Oh, you may not know this, but guess who actually financially pays for the FDA (Food and Drug Administration), hint, it's not the Federal Government, nope, it's the Drug Manufacturers.) So who do you think controls decisions the FDA makes and in who's favor do you think they will lean toward? )     

You will find that those who bring this scientific information on natural treatments and cures forward are not from the good ole USA.  

No, the scientific backing  to Natural cures and treatments are now mainly coming from England and other European countries.  

No, any Doctors who bring out this information or practices Natural alternative treatments here in AMERICA  are at risk legally from the AMA  and the FDA, the  "Lap Dogs"  of the Pharmaceutical Companies.

And here is something else to think about

A car company can move its factories to Mexico and claim it's a free market.  

A toy company can out source to a Chinese subcontractor and claim it's a free market.  
 
A major bank can incorporate in Bermuda to avoid taxes and claim it's a free market.  
 
We can buy HP Printers made in Mexico.  
 
We can buy shirts made in Bangladesh.  
 
When I need to speak to someone about my computer, I talk to somebody in India.  
 
We can purchase almost anything we want from 20 different Countries...  
 
BUT, heaven help the elderly who dare to buy their prescription drugs from a Mexican or Canadian pharmacy at a 60% discount. That's called un-American!  And moves are being made to make it illegal to make prescription purchases from Mexican or Canadian pharmacies...
 
And you think the pharmaceutical companies don't have a powerful lobby?  Think they won't use their
power to keep you a captive consumer?  Think there is a free market in the medical field?
 
Think again!
 
Now let me get on the Medical Insurance companies for a moment.  Do me a favor and call up your local insurance agent and get a quote on the cost of Medical Insurance for you and your family of comparable coverage that you currently have with your job site.  Ask yourself if you could afford this if your company discontinued medical coverage plans.

Many working Americans and their families are in this boat as their Employer no longer participates in providing insurance coverage.  And the number of Employers opting out of providing Health Insurance is growing rapidly with the rising cost of premiums.   It is obvious when listening to anyone who has had a major health issue arise tell about the lack of coverage that was actually given.  Basically Health Insurance companies are paying out less and less while charging more and more in premiums.

I'm for a National Health plan.  One that is similar to Canada.  I know the Insurance Companies loose their most recent meal at the thought of a National Health system and send their Lobbyist into overtime and spending millions to keep their golden goose on the nest..  Check out the salaries and perks of Health Insurance CEO's , cooperate officers and share holders etc.  all sucking the blood of sick and injured individuals as fast as they can... 

Capitalist say it will cost to much.  Ya, it will to the profits of those who now run the system.  It will cost less in taxes than is currently being charged by insurance companies.   As everybody will be paying into it, if they pay taxes and everybody will be covered.  No profit, no perks, no waist if run correctly.. That's what capitalist can not stand cause they are cut out of the loop.  Benefits in the Health Insurance field has, is and will get worse under the capitalist model.  The compassion is gone.  The humanity is gone.  Cost of premiums will continue to rise while coverage and Benefits will dwindle..   PROFIT is the goal..  The actions of the insurance industry showed it's true colors in New Orleans after Katrina.  Refusing to pay for damages at every turn to those with coverage, mostly on little technicalities if for any reason at all.  It happens just this same way with the Health Insurance industry only you usually don't hear about it as it is between them and ONE family and goes un-noticed...  Leaving the family or individual to fight a Multi Billion dollar cold uncaring entity with little support..
Currently Medical Cost is rising 4 times faster than wages....
Currently 8 out of 10 Medical Bills have errors on them in favor of the biller not the consumer...
These errors would never be tolerated in any other service businesses, inflated charges, double charging, charging for services not given, or for supplies not used, or for items or services that are included in other billed areas are the normal way of serving the consumer by the American Medical establishment....  Any other business who did this would be under multiple investigations by Local, State and Federal agencies...
These facts have been reported in National News yet this is being allowed to continue...
The government is currently paying out enormous amounts of overcharged monies to this Medical Monster in the care of Medicaid, Medicare and other Governmental medical programs,  the Monsters influence is so great that politicians won't allow Government to negotiate pharmaceutical prices with manufactures...  That's how strong the medical lobby is in Washington...

WE NEED CHANGE..

WE NEED TIGHT GOVERNMENTAL CONTROL OVER THIS MEDICAL MONSTER THAT IS SUCKING THE BLOOD FROM EVERYONE... 

CONSERVATIVES YELL THAT THE FREE MARKET WILL TAKE CARE OF IT.. BULL SHIT!! THERE IS NO FREE MARKET...   THIS  MONSTER HAS WITH GOVERNMENT HELP CLOSED THE MARKET OF ANY OTHER ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL HELP OR NATURAL CURES AND TREATMENTS....  THERE IS NO ALTERNATIVE MEDICAL HELP...  THERE FOR NO FREE MARKET, NO COMPETITION, NO ABILITY FOR CONSUMERS TO DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES WHAT ALTERNATIVE COURSE TO TAKE..

We are captive consumers, we are being milked of our hard earned monies and assets at an increasing rate..... 

I hear some people who oppose Universal Health Care say that the taxpayer has no constitutional obligation to provide health coverage to those who can not afford it.  I agree we have no constitutional obligation to provide funds for universal health care. 

We also have no constitutional obligation to pay for  any Lap Dog agency that holds low income families to a captive market and limiting their choices of alternative medicines they can afford. 

Canada's national health care system, which operates without a private insurance industry has been held up as a model by liberals and as a disaster by conservatives.  The Clinton's tried to change things in 1993 but failed.   The right wing saw it as communistic and rejected socialized medicine,   we are living with the results of that decision today.

The cost gap between the United States and Canada has only widened since 1993, and per capita health care expenditures in the United States are now almost double those in Canada ($6,401 vs. $3,359).  Canada's per capita health expenditures rose about 65% from 1993 to 2005, while costs in the United States rose by over 90%.   Where is all this increased cost going, who is lining their pockets?

Canadians consult with physicians far more often than do Americans yet their per capita cost in Canada is slightly over half that of the United States.  Infants mortality is higher in the US and life expectancy at birth is less than in Canada. 

Tell me again how our system of Medical Care is better than Canada, Convence me that our open market will take care of itself in the medical field if government would just get out of the way.

There IS NO OPEN MARKET IN THE MEDICAL FIELD of the United States.... 

Because of US laws we are more and more being held a captive market to this Monster of a health care system...

Oddly, the ones who fight most against National Health care are those who profit from the status quo,  or rich enough to afford health care,  or are still high enough in the corperate system to still have their Medical covered by the corperation.
And some of these people in the upper echelons of corperate America have coverage while denying coverage to their hourly workers.. 

See, times have changed drastically.  not to long ago a poor family could give a local Doctor a pig or chicken or a pie or trade work  as payment.  The Doctor would actually make a house call.  Today there are very, very few Doctors I know of who serve the community in this way.  Most Doctors will drop you like a rock if you miss a payment.  Some Doctors and Hospitals will not even treat you if you do not have insurance.  So if you make $1500 or less per month you are up the proverbial creek without a paddle.  Food, housing and transportation to work along with clothing and lights and heating will eat this monthly amount up leaving nothing for medical insurance.   Lets see $1500 divided by 160 which is 4 weeks at 40 hours a week is: $9.375 an hour, and what is minimum wage again?  hmmmm. get my point. 

See the rich have no problem with paying for health care.  Politicians will get free universal coverage for life along with their full salaries to boot, paid for by, guess who, you,  whether you have insurance or not.  Those who can afford health care are lucky.  More and more companies are dropping health care coverage for their employees stating that the cost has gone to high.  So if a company cannot afford to pay a partial sum of the coverage with the employee contributing his part, how in the world is the employee able to take on the whole sum.   Hint, they are not,  44 million Americans are without any insurance at all.  This number is growing rapidly.  So I say to those who are rich enough to still afford health care, count your lucky stars, if it is partially paid for by your company, I say you better plan ahead, the day is coming when this coverage will end. 
 
Most Americans are only 3 months from being homeless.

They are not lazy, or on the public dole.  They are hard working Americans, raising kids, paying rent or a Mortgage, putting food on the table and trying to save for college and maybe a vacation.  This is the group that is loosing health care at an alarming rate.  

To the rich, medical insurance investors, pharmaceutical investors and the politicians who support a free market in the Health industry, it is a gold mine.  This is a Monopoly, I kid you not.

These same opponents to a National Health Care system would have you believe that Charities should help those who cannot afford Medical Help..  Think about that for just one second and you realize that the need is right now and Charities can not fill the gap even now or it would not be a growing problem....  If charities are the answer for 44 million and growing uninsured, let's let Doctor's, Hospitals and Pharmaceutical Companies  rely on Donations from charity and see how long they survive...  Charities are good but not as a source for 44 million growing uninsured citizens. 

Socialized Universal coverage may not be the answer for us,  but any system other than the one we got needs to be looked at..

It would have to provide any  American citizen with health care no matter their income.   It maybe a system paid for by the government and paid for through taxation or it maybe government law requiring Insurance companies to set health care premiums based on income rather than coverage and may hold some perks for the insurance companies for doing so.  Or it could be a MAJOR overhaul of laws that give support to those who currently cannot afford conventional health care so that they can access alternative medical help they can afford.

But for the greatest nation in the world to have 44 million uninsured citizens and growing is not right no matter how you try to paint it...   And then as stated above to outlaw treatments and cures that cost far and away less is criminal.    Remember, 80 percent of the world does not rely solely on Western Medicine if at all nor does their governments require them to, ours does.
 
We may not have a constitutional obligation to pay for universal health care but you know deep down this should be a basic human right of any human to be cared for when ill or hurt buy what ever means the person can afford....

So if you don't want to curb the Medical Monsters powers and / or provide Universal Healthcare then at least make it lawful for those who cannot afford current medical cost to seek alternative medical help they can afford ...

Some say you can tell the strength and Morality of a Nation by the way their animals are treated.
 I would add, and how Universal  (Affordable) their Health Care is for EVERYONE....
